I grew up in Lexington, KY and it's all about college basketball there. When I moved here to Cincinnati of course everybody is all about the Bengals. Since I have a natural tendancy to balance something's popularity with the masses with equal amounts of my own resistance, I resisted getting into pro-football.
But when the Bengals are 0-5, how can your heart not go out?!? This may be the thing that gets me into football

My team is 0-4. The lowly Texans. next time I go to a game I am wearing a bag on my head.

Typical hipster Rob, 0-4 is bad, but 0-5 is horrible. Too bad we didn't have a bye so we could claim 0-4, haha

we did not have bye either! we had a hurricane come through and postpone the texans/Ravens game until November, when the Texans were supposed to take a bye. so now the Texans have NO bye week.

The Cavs trounced the Terps last week. And MD had been favored by two touchdowns. I was able to get a couple of free tickets and it was a night game, so I went.
In the NFL, the Chargers are experiencing some less than pleasant results after being predicted by many to win it all this season. And in MLB, the Mets didn't even make it to a wild card despite being loaded with talent, and for a time, so far ahead of the rest. I really thought that the Bengals were going to be pretty good last year, afterthefact. They seem to be going downhill now though. Palmer is hurt or playing injured a lot. He doesn't look like he used to in games. The defense is playing, for the most part, a smidgen better, but it's just not enough. I imagine that Ocho Cinco sure wishes he had jumped ship during the last offseason. |

But the 0-5 aside, they have their good moments this year. They just need to tighten up a little. I seriously belive that if Perry hadn't fumbled that ball on Sunday, they really could have had the Cowboys.

No I wasn't, but what is your band called?
And UFC is no longer watching big guys beat each other. Now it's about watching little nobodies beat the crap out of the big guys haha

The Harlequins
we just played midpoint, we're playing a free show monday at the northside tavern and wednesday we're playing a show at the southgate house parlour opening for Gringo Star! & watching the little guys beat the shit out of the big guys is fun too! Too be honest I would rather get a time machine and have muhhamid ali lose a few pounds and I'd like to see him versus sugar ray leonard! I could watch them fight for the rest of my life! |

I agree Rob.
UFC is like an ak47, or a better comparison would be a blaster pistol...powerful sure... but what happened to all the civilized lightsaber combat, there was a code once (boxing) /geek rant |

Actually, no. If we are to understand a sport as any activity that involves
balls and causes the participant to sweat, then sex is a sport. And, if performed correctly, sex is far from boring.

i dont know who is "we", but, ok. i hope the twerps become 2nd rated and the money the fucking alumni raise to feed those fucking meatheads and their millionaire coaches goes to research and faculty pay instead. same goes for basketball-- i've enjoyed the basketball, but fuck, that school needs so many things but basketball takes priority over EVERYTHING. even the fucking class schedule. SO WRONG. |
