Has anybody spent any time listening to this album? I downloaded the first track from emusic - it is pretty good. I also want to get the Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Quintet live in Lisbon record - there's a cover of Eureka on there and a live version of Serene, which is one of my favorite Dolphy tunes. Anybody already have that? Is it good? I really like the ONJQ cover album of Out To Lunch. |

I bought that album a few months ago. My first reaction that made me buy it was sheer amazement, but I've never achieved it since. I gave it 2.5 on RateYourMusic.

I have a severe problem with Laswell, but I may investigate this album nonetheless... is Laswell doing synths or bass? That bass tone he seems to enjoy makes my skin crawl.

yeah, i've not liked anything i've heard from laswell, and tatsuya is more miss than hit for me, i just can't get into those super-prog steez. but otomo's cover of eureka is awesome, especially once kahimi kari stops singing.
