They were around mid-90s I believe. Someone did me a tape years ago which I loved. I never found out much information about them.
I just saw The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. They really reminded me of them. |

Versus had some solid records and are a decent enough band for how cheap their records are, but nothing really special IMO. Their records, while not bad, are mostly forgettable I think. Been a while since I've listened to them, so maybe my thoughts are different.
Despite them taking their name from the Mission of Burma record, I think Versus and Burma sound nothing alike really. ~Jeremy~

Great band. My favorite album they released was The Stars are Insane, but their entire '90s output was really good. They've been on hiatus for quite some time, occasionally reforming to open for Mission of Burma or some other one-off, but they're back together now and planning on releasing an album on Merge next year, produced by Nicholas Vehrnes.

Did they have a male and female singer? I had a look at the discography and don't recognise any of the songs. Did they have a song with 'spastic' in the title? I remember that.

One of my favorite bands from the 90's for sure. A little on the pop side of things but still good. Glad to hear they are recording again.
