perfection -- ps if you keep a bottle of this at home heres a great recipe for the season get some fresh strawberries (they are cheeeap these days!), wash well cos they grow on the crap, toss with some granulated sugar and a splash of good tequila.-- just a splash to get them all wet. let them sit there for... 30 minutes maybe? tossing them occassionally to make sure all get equal juice coverage. eat for dessert. |

i actually like herradura, i dont think ive ever drank patrón... with an authoritarian name like that, hah hah, to remind you of what the peons drink.
-- everyneurotic, go to a proper cantina, with good botanas, while they still exist. |

are you kidding me?! those will never disappear!! they're all good, old guys playing domino, the tv playing local soccer matches, peanuts and totopos, bartenders with bow ties (some have them). 10 minutes from my house on foot, there a re a couple of pulquerias, i've never tried it, though, i definitely would like to.
man, i don't like tequila, i only drink it when i'm already blindingly drunk, last time i downed tequila as a starting drink it led to one of the worst nights of my life. but jimador is probably the best...have you tried the sangrita? around the block from my house, there's this pool parlour, i mean, the old kind of place, i love it; the tables are fucking wide, the carpetting smooth...if i wasn't so sick of beer, i would go there and shoot a little. |

it's the good thing about here, there's a lot of preservation going around, it's really cool. |

there's a sanborn's right across the street from my house.
incidentaly, it is said around here that the most depressing place where you can go get hammered here is the sanborn's bar, it's always semi dark, there's a piano player and no more than 3 people at a time, and they are mostly middle aged and faced down in the bar or tables. |

Caipirinha's are the shit! Three of these will put you in your place, let me tell ya. Ingredients for one glass of Caipirinha 1 lime & 1 Lemon Cachaça granulated sugar two icecubes (preferably crushed ice) Preparation Cut a lime into pieces and put these in a flat-bottomed glass. Add one or two spoons of sugar (Brazilians like it probably sweeter than you do). Crush the lemon with a pestle or a spoon to release its juice. Add the ice cubes. Some people like to crush the ice before adding, others simply add the whole ice cubes. Add the cachaça while mixing until the lemon and the ice cubes are just covered. Caipivodka? If you replace the cachaça with vodka, you’ll have a drink called caipivodka. |

but of course! that recipe sounds HAWT. I'm adding berries to the shopping list. Quote:
holy crap that looks good! I guess you could replace the "Cachaça" (had to cut paste that) with bacardi 151..I might have to try that instead of wodka if I can't find it. Quote:
I only use it sparingly. for the most part I stick with stout beer. tequila is for invincibility!! [multi-edit post to conserve thread spam] |
