So I finally got The Eternal today
hadn't read any press releases or reviews or forum posts about it - was only vaguely aware there was a new album. It was really...ordinary?

i herd u liek mudkipz.
ps: I can't get into the eternal....at all (although I've sincerely tried). I'm hoping that it turns into something that I kick myself for not liking two years from now. |

meh, every band has their own style. sonic youth has been playing for nearly 30 years, of course they have their own standards by which we judge them. but i still don't think that they can ever be "ordinary." i personally heard a lot in the eternal which borrowed from their previous work but i still don't think that it's ordinary.

funny you should say that. I was telling myself just yesterday "self, I sure wish nic would fix this for me". it worked so well for Dear Science. so very well in fact that I think it might be their best album yet. are you a wizzzard? |

I still haven't picked it up. Took me a long time to buy Rather Ripped too, where I bought Nurse the day it came out, if I recall correctly.

"wat" (pronounced "We-uh-t") is a delicious soupy/saucy ethiopian dish of either tibs (broiled beef strips), doro (spiced chicken pieces) or my absolute favorite ye-misir wat (spiced lentils)
