I've just been watching a report on TV about the Battle of the Somme, which all kicked off ninety years ago today, and it set me off thinking about anti war songs.
Good ones in my opinion: Bob Dylan - Masters of War (although my favourite is Mark Arm's version) The Pogues - And the band played Waltzing Matilda The Men They Couldn't Hang - Green Fields of France Neil Young's version of Blowin' in the Wind (on Weld) |

i could never understand the first line of peace attack, but then i read that it was "3 feb 03 peace". then i realized the reason i didn't understand it was that my ears didn't believe that it could possibly be the first line of a song.
