What's This Called? will be preempted this week by a very special revival of my 1980s Post-Punk Noise Rock program No Skinny Ties!
It's a 4th of July tradition at KPSU for me to bust out the old stuff for two hours of American classics from back in the days when "indie" meant a record actually came out on an independent label! Thrill once again to the likes of Big Black, Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers, Pus$y Galore, Green River, Black Flag, Beat Happening, Girl Trouble, Ut, Mission of Burma, the Wipers, the Melvins, Malfunkshun, Salem 66, and so much more!
