I sure hope that the Conservatives don't get majority vote, otherwise Canada will end up like the Bush administration with anti-abortion, privatized health care, and tax breaks to large corporations. Results start in 2 hours!

hmm, I really don't think the liberals will get majority. Because there's 5 major parties in Canada, it's much more difficult to have a majority government because the leading party is against 4 others, so getting that 51% is difficult to obtain. Harper called the election because he was in power with a minority government, so he couldn't do anything, which is what's probably going to happen again, but if not, liberals will be leading with minority. Here's the juice: http://enr.elections.ca/National_e.aspx

yeah that's what I'm wondering. I don't care if people even vote Bloc Quebecois, Christian, or marijuana. As long they're not contributing to Conservative...haven't people seen what Bush has done? It's sad that so many people are supporting McCain and Harper when it will injure the environment and criminalize same sex marriage and abortion.

I would vote green but i decided instead to vote against conservative .
When i was 18 i think i was so surprised to see an actual communist electorate on my ballot that i voted for him, as i had no confidence that my vote meant anything. one day my vote against conservative will mean something . even if harper burns down every liberal and ndp crop in his path, as he is the richest one. |

Good stuff, Green's the way to go in Ottawa since NDP lead Ottawa. Unfortunately I live in a small town just on the Quebec side in Gatineau, so there's Bloc Quebecois to worry about. I ended up voting Liberal only because Green is very weak in Gatineau and I needed to fight coservative. They have the best policies though: -carbon taxation (and lower all other taxes for balance. About time someone decides pollution tax is a great idea) -Legalization of weed (plenty of tax money) -investments in renewable energy -Tax breaks to middle class, no mccain/harper/bush bullshit -Higher minimum wage -ALL computer software from canadan government legally must be open source -Organic, Locally-grown food sources over imports

My main beef with the conservatives is the culture cutting they have been commiting (as well as all the usual bullshit). They consider the arts a "niche industry".

green is weak everywhere. did you not notice their standings of zero.
they are for a voice and for a perspective and not as a real thing to vote for. |

It's still updating, but it looks like it yeah. We're right back to what we had before. Conservatives are basically powerless without 51% luckily, so it'll hold them off from destruction for at least two years

Canada is huge; I was reading about it.
There's this place that begins with N and it was only incorporated into Canada in 1999. It is the size of Western Europe but only 25,000 people live there. I live in Jersey which has four times that population in an area of 9x5 miles. Does anyone here come from that place? Also, if you take the distance from my house to the nearest part of Canada to me (over the entire Atlantic Ocean) and then double it, you're only about half way through Canada! Bloody hell.

Nunavut is quite a barren place in upper Canada, and they barely have a summer. Due to weather extremities not many live there
