I love the song that M. Ward did with Cat Power. Willie Deadwilder I think it was called. I'm always down with M. Ward.

He's touring with Incubus in Australia, I think.

I remember seeing him with Bollocks_to_Pop at the fairly recent Yo La Tengo show in Portland. He fucking rocked. Some one in the bathroom told me he was good because he had collaborated with Bright Eyes, as if that's a compliment. Well, he definitely exceeded my expections... enough to make me disregard that guy saying he was "good" because he had done stuff with Bright Eyes.

Have you listened to Bright Eyes? I mean actually listen to the music, not what the kids say?

Sure. I don't care for him.
But I'm not saying he's "uber bad, bro," if that's what you were picking up. I didn't mean that. I just meant that the guy said that M. Ward was good, because he had done something WITH someone else, and not because he was actually a very skilled musician and did some bad ass stuff with a looping pedal at the show. The guy implied that it was the "with Bright Eyes" that made him good, not what he actually did. |

I saw him live this last weekend with a backing band. I saw him just solo about a year ago and I must admit that I prefer the solo M. Ward to the full band version. I only have Post War and need to get more of his albums. He also needs to make a new one too.
