I think I am finally getting her. I like some of her songs on youtube. So which albums should I start with her.
The songs I like are: Like a prayer Like a Virgin Into the Groove. So which album should I get first?

madonna is pretty fascinating i think. i cant think of any pop stars with her success that have ever been as adventurous as her, she does whatever she wants and feels like, and gets away with it? debut song about getting fucked so hard it hurts? sure. piss off the white man's church by having a video about black jesus? check. make a whole ablum inspred by special k, ex, and rave well into your 40's? sounds good.

seconded, she's always been a singles artist, not an albums one. |

So I should get the singles of her only. Then I might go ahead and do that.

Agreed, but there are quite a few singles on the first album that didn't make it on that collection. Really though, I see nothing wrong with listening to Madonna, it's just buying it that seems unnecessary. If you're scared of the RIAA, you should be able to check her cds out from any public library and copy them at home. |

Roisin Murphy is much more interesting to me than Madonna. I like a lot of her music but her persona does irritate me a lot. The whole ''I'm an earth mother dressed in a bin liner'' phase that she went through with Ray Of Light is also more than risible, pathetic more-like. Go for The Immaculate Collection, it's all killer tunes on there. |
