eh, I once was entranced by the idea of the sudden but unexplainable nature of zombie films a couple years ago but I've lost interest since then

You could look it up, or you could read T.C. Boyle's "Sorry Fugu". The latter takes a bit longer, but it's much more enjoyable.

"Shaun Of The Dead" is a v good film, follows the zombie genre very well whilst supplying it's own very British comedy moments.

I tried to like Shaun of the Dead but just got increasingly irritated with its studenty humour, to the point where I ended up switching it off after about half an hour.

I think Shaun succeeded in creating characters you miss when they die.
In other movies, humans are just crop.

Shaun of the Dead was good for a one time watch with friends for all the inside zombie jokes and shit. Are that, the rest of the movie is pretty mediocre.

It was just a lame zombie comedy. I don't mind my zombie movies not being serious -- look at Dead Alive or Return of the Living Dead......... but it had almost no gore, no funny parts, no suspense, and annoying characters. Just kinda.. you know.. nothing.

Did anyone mention Children of the Living Dead yet? One hilarious film.

So I was watching "Resident Evil: Extinction" earlier today and it occured to me that infected zombies seem to be the new thing with zombie movies, and while 28 Days Later was not the first to do the zombies as a infection/disease metaphor they were arugable the most well known. I also know that George Romero has said he hated fast moving zombies which seems to be what the "infected" zombies of this movie as well as the "Resident Evil" films seem to enjoy. So I was curious what you guys think. Do you preffer the zombies as re-animated dead who just stumble around, or are you a big fan of the zombies as infection/disease who run like rabid cannbialistic animals? I've also heard that Danny Boyle is thinking of doing a third 28"" Later.... film. I like both types but I do really like the zombies as rabid animals approch of 28 Days Later.
