I hate when you hear people say something like "I love music, except for rap or country."

I've came across things like "I love all music except that shouty rock crap" and "I LUV ALL MUSIC BUT MAINLY RAP AND DANCE" etc.
Really shows for people's intelligence. |

I didn't think it was bad. Some of the pairings actually made Jay-Z sound intelligent, although the beats didn't work with the music.
I didn't recognize what Radiohead songs were used for "Dreaming Up" and "Change Order", though...does anybody know which songs they are?

Listened to it 2wice. I give a 6/10. Standout to me is "No Karma". But there's a handful that I'll repeat listen for a while.
Strange note: This was the first 2009 release I listened to for the year. The first 2008 release I listened to last year was also a Jay-Z remix mixtape, in the form of Ravage's AMERICAN MONSTA. (Ravage is one of the remaining memebers of the "new" Monsta Island Czars... he remixed American Gangster using MIC-sounding instrumentals -- meaning a lot of sort of sci-fi weirdo lo-fi griminess. Good stuff.) |
