...before realizing my stupid friend had the usb connectors'cables on the mobo messed up. I guess some kind of wrong electric input killed them.

I haven't told him yet.
I mean, he knows that the first time something happened to the flashdrive (we were at his house), then I brought his pc to my garage to "set it up" with more calm. He's a pretty "precise" guy, I bet followed all instructions without noticing the mistake at all (obviously). mah!
