Right now, current rock music is plagued by people who sing like the singer from Blink 182. That melodramatic, obnoxious, annoying pop punk style that is plaguing current rock music has got to go. I feel like a dinosaur for not enjoying any current music. All the new bands I currently like nobody has ever even heard of like Mong Hang, The Entrance Band, even The Coup

In rock specifically:
Sex Black Influence. Genres can only last so long once they are tapped by the industry. Rock has been strangled, and as a commercialy viable form of music, is dead.

I think Rock is still commercially viable, even if it has reached something of a creative dead end. There'll be a market for big riffs played on electric guitars through massive amps for a long time to come, I'm sure. Even after a person has sampled every position in the karma sutra, they'll still want to fuck.
