Not too expensive (up to 500 Euro) and not too shitty.
I want to use it for recording home made drones ... I am fed up with software recording. eBay links appreciated. Thanks.

for that budget i like:
fostex mr16 hd wirth or without cd http://cgi.ebay.com/Fostex-MR-16-Digital-Multitrack-Recorder-New_W0QQitemZ300318992601QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_0?hash=item45ec6828d9&_trksid=p3286.c0. m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A123 4%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 http://cgi.ebay.com/FOSTEX-MR16HD-CD-MR-16-HD-CD-16-TRACK-RECORDER-NEW_W0QQitemZ330312864541QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_0?hash=item4ce82e531d&_trksid=p3286.c0. m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A123 4%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 or mr8 hd (cheaper, but less tracks... these things are so easy to work with you'll find yourself wanting to add more and more tracks with just little bits in them only to hear the effect eheh). will you record with amps/mics or directly into the thing? edit: those costs a bit less than 500 euros, I considered that prices over here in europe are quite higher usually.

I use that Fostex MR16- the only con with it is there isn't any manual equaliser on it. You have to fuck about with pressing a bunch of buttons to achieve a completely unnoticable equalisation..

yeah, I go into the recorder (mr8) through a mixer to eq stuff before feeding it to the recorder. Guess slavo has something for that purpose...dunno.

Yeah, it ain't bad for what I need it for. I've recorded my band on it as well as several hip hop albums.

boss br-600 is what i use. about $330. totally worth it i believe. it's very portable, and it sure beats using the fucking computer. i've been recording loops and delay drones and it sounds great. you can save the pieces as mp3s and upload them onto a computer
the only big drag is that it records the tracks on digital cards and the largest it takes is 1GB. which are rare to find |
