cuttlefish are horrifying. with green blood, three hearts, and able to change color in a flash, it also has a complex propulsion and buoyancy system (the latter similar to that used in submarines), and a sharp ‘beak’ which allows it to cut open flesh like a pair of scissors, so it can use its tentacles to tear out meat. this belongs in that 'forget aliens' thread.

I fucking love cuttlefish. my favorite animal. each and every nerve cell in their skin and muscles is directly connected to the brain, no links between neurons! Just LONG neurons lkike mainlining \sensory input. fucking awesome.
they rule all but beware the zombified robotic cuttlefish from the future!

Cuttlefish are highly intelligent and inquisitive creatures. Love them.
Speaking of molluscs, I'd rather swim in shark infested waters than come face to face with a large Humboldt Squid out in the open sea. These lightning fast carnivores are notoriously agressive, and will take you out in a flash when hungry.

Static-harmony, that is so hilarious that you start this thread about cuttlefish!
I always thought they were called cuddlefish. How cute, I thought. Then I googled one, and...holy shit! |
