Thurston Moore will be headlining Indie-O Fest this Saturday, April 7th, at Polyfórum Siquieiros in Mexico City. Lee Ranaldo will be playing before him, and for whatever strange and surely poor reason, someone thought it was a brilliant idea to put City And Colour as the preceding act to both of them all the while Wild Flag and Kurt Vile are relegated to playing too early in the day.
Below's a pic of the schedule stolen from Indie-O Festival's facemook page: May this thread serve to post all pertinent information in regards to Thurston Moore and his band's performance in Mexico City.

Oh, man. It was so awesome... I just got back from Mexico City, I haven't slept in more than 24 hours, I shall take a nap and come back with some info and pics later. Meanwhile here's a pic of Thurston Moore's set-list:
I recorded every performance, except the mexican band, Antoine Reverb, and City And Colour, who really bored the fuck out of me. My humble captures will be available as soon as possible. Be warned that the sound at the venue was really boomy, the vocals were very low in the mix, and every band gave signs of being unsatisfied with the soundman... Thurston's set sounded great, though. There were a shit ton of photographers there so I think we'll get to see some great pictures. Toni François, one of the best from here, was there for instance and she's really fast at sharing so I'm sure we'll see some of her awesome pics in a matter of a few hours over at her website: http://www.tono.tv/ Meanwhile, here's one by her on instagram: http://instagr.am/p/JJdCanqpI4/ |

I will, then I'll come back later and share files and hopefully my points of view of both shows if I can articulate my thoughts.

Johnny, I didn't see your edit to your post. There was only a new song here, "Groovy & Linda", which was performed as the encore, followed by "Staring Statues" to end the show. Samara Lubelski switched to the bass for that one. "Onyx Eyes", listed in the set-list as the second song, is actually "Mina Loy".

Here's another setlist for the same show confirming that Mina Loy was the second song played... I'm sure Onyx Eyes is the name of a new song they're working on though... |

Stu, Onyx Eyes is the part of the lyrics from Mina Loy: Onyx eyes swallow me. So I guess he's just replacing Mina Loy title with it.
Groovey & Linda is that instrumental track he was playing before? Or something different?

Thankyou very much for this, it is very quiet but that's ok, I'm just happy that you recorded it... I've got Groovey & Linda playing on repeat, it's a pretty cool track.... can't wait for a new Thurston album now! |

I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. I found it pretty decent when listening on my stereo and on my headphones, therefore I didn't think I'd try and do anything to it. Listening on my computer now, and it does sound indeed too quiet. Anyway, I'm just glad I have something for providing a bit of a notion of how awesome this show was, especially considering that my memory gets crappy with the passing of time and I have very limited ability to express my thoughts. Pelle, that picture of Lee is one of my favorites from this whole set. He was there in that corner, on his own, watching Thurston and his band play. A few seconds after it was snapped, he went on to take pictures with his camera and also filmed with his Iphone. I still have a set of pictures of Lee's performance to share. Just got up, I really slept like I'm sick. It's almost 3:00 PM over here , I'm putting my lazy ass to work. I'm uploading my recording of Thurston's show to Wetransfer at the moment.
