Anyone picked this new Ecstatic Peace disc up yet? I read a synopsis that made allusions to a more dissonant no wave sound so decided to get it...
The first three tracks are awesome. Track one and two are cosmic rock jams leaking feedback.. quite thrilling.. track three touches on some no wave free jazz territory with utterly weird vocalisation... the last two tracks are extended electronic meltdowns... on first listen I was dismayed and felt that the CD was disappearing up it's own ass... listening again, they are actually quite good tracks, well paced with their own odd rhythms... samples and modulated sounds intertwining in a warm zen bath... |

I was a bit let down by it to be honest but I haven't really given it an extended listen. I really must.

taylor from sunburned gave me a copy the other night when we were hanging out. gave it a few listens in the car, but havent really sat down and digested it. the cdr feel the wind that came out earlier this year is fantastic however. awesome 25 barn burner to open it all up...

I got Feel The Wind and Taste of Never and MAN! Some really heavy shit when down when they recorded that stuff. Haven't gotten Z yet. I was going to buy it from Ecstatic Peace. It hasn't been released yet for selling on their website and yet it says the cd is already sold out. Does anyone know if it really is sold out or not? I talked to John Moloney recently and he's a really cool guy. Sunburned is just awesome in general.

I bought it from ebay from a seller called indooreagle (incidentally the name of a thurston/moloney side project)... also, the envelope i received it in had Moloney written on it... also included a couple of ace Ecstatic Peace stickers one of which I promptly plastered onto my Jazzmaster... |

Yeah I bought a bunch of cds from Moloney. I first got some stuff off of ebay from him, Wildanimal, Double Puberty. I then just e-mailed him asking if he had any new cds and I got Feel The Wind, Taste of Never and Trickle Down from him for dirt cheap compared to other places. The smart way to go is just buy direct from them. Real nice guys.
