Stu666 and I have been in search of a scan of the full front & back cover of the SILVER ROCKETS/COOL THINGS 20 YEARS OF SONIC YOUTH (unbelievably Japan-only) dvd. Someone? Anyone?

I own a documentary on VHS called "Sceaming Fields of Sonic Love : 20 Years of Sonic Youth", I think it has been realised about 2000.
Is it the same stuff ? |

I've seen it a few times on TV, but I've never read about it being on DVD. Without that documentary, I never would've discovered SY.

I think yr confused. SCREAMING FIELDS OF SONIC LOVE was a video collection of pre-Geffen years. Released 1995 or so.
SILVER ROCKETS/COOL THINGS: 20 YEARS OF SONIC YOUTH was a docuemntary released around 2002. |

That's the one Pauly! I'm hoping someone, somewhere has full front/back scans. Do we have any boarders who live in Japan perhaps?

There's currently one up for auction at Yahoo Japan.
Sixty quid (!) so I won't be bidding but there are some reasonable photos of the disc and sleeve if that's any help. http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m45868976 |

My wife watched the film with me the other nite, and said that when they talked about the concet of this-guitar-is-for-this-song and the whole stolen gear thing, it made her understand SY a whole lot more. Really good documentary, if not thorough career-wise, it definitely captured the 2000-era perfectly. And the version of "NYC Ghosts & Flowers" played at the end of the film is incredible.

Wow, first time I've ever seen a scan of the back cover. Now we know this thing existed in nicely packaged form. I don't know if we can crop thos photos (someone arty??) because of the angle, but we're getting closer to having the artwork in full!! |
