anyone read thisbook? he just gave a talk at my uni and i was transfixed. he read a part of his book with an ambient electronic backing, and his writing is so interesting. he discussed listening to the silence inbetween noises, and how this is impossible, as even our ears produce noise, and the japanese concept of ma ("looking at the black inbetween the stars"). i really want to read his book...

I haven't read this one, but I read Haunted Weather last year. It's very good, he manages to make his obscure references understandable without doing that Hornby thing of assuming everyone has heard his entire record collection. Very delicate writer, oh yes.
