I can see Knowle west from my window, and the idea of people visiting it as a result of this album frightens me. It makes Clapton look like Cambridge. Or at least Bath.

But Glice, they're not trying to discover the "roots" of trip-hop, they want to know about our supergroup Cunt. I say ride the admiration while it lasts!

I don't want to get complacent. After all, we've still got the difficult second argument to get over.

Aye, that's true. Can you believe than demonrail wants to do a whole LP side based on his double-triangle solos?
By the by, what thinketh you of the most recent Portishead album?

It's not so much the double-triangle solos so much as the triangle shaped promotional dildo that worry me.
Portishead are pretty consistently meh in my eyes, but that's me.

Triangle-shaped promotional dildo? I bet he want me to roadtest it as well. Bastard.
PM me mister if you're coming up to London at some point - I feel a weak excuse for drinking and blathering is in order.

I saw Tricky on Jules Holland the other night (dont ask) and his new song was shite. Got himself a new Martina and some 'Rock' guitars and it sounded shit. Shame, he used to be wicked

You can hear some new tracks on his Myspace. Not astoundingly brilliant I must say, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. Council Estate is up there in full. It's due for release on July 7 (three days before my birthday!) so a little while to wait yet.

Any thoughts on this now its been out for a month?
Personally I've enjoyed it very much, it hasn't got anything on Nearly God or any of the early stuff, but theres some excellent tunes on this new LP, namely Council State and Past Mistake which I've fallen totally in love with (yeah, it's text book 'trip-hop' but it's still very powerful and moving |
