is there anything else worth stringing an electric guitar with?
if there are, what are the effects on sound? ive heard of chicken wire but i can only imagine it sounds dischrdant which isnt quite what im looking for,. im looking for bright heavy powerfull and a little different. cellos sometimes use steel strings? would anyone know what that would sound like on guitar? |

try a different gauge.. tried plastic wire and it sounds like shit..
i remember rubbing alcohol over the strings and playing with a coin...that was cool..

there are all sorts of options within the string world:
acoustic strings nickel strings steel strings different gauges flat wound strings round wound strings ground wound strings plus different picks- nylon, copper, brass, steel I like brass picks |

Yeah I just use the yellow plastic pics...I break strings too much as it is.
I used to use thicker picks but it's becoming ridiculous... I'll put on new strings, play a show, then play the next show and I'll break one. I need to get those graffite things for the bridge again. where the strings rest on, that seemed to help |

nylons won't work with an electric guitar. You'll get barely any volume, if at all.
