He's sure got that 1991 grunge look down. Long hair, oversized T. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

What a great guitar.
He looks like he's getting up there. How old is he now?

Nice to see he belongs to the trucker-cap contingent of aging rock stars.

BSS > J. Mascis. I don't care if they are new and he's a 'god' or some shit. Dino was and always will be boring. Old hacks should give up.

I agree that Dinosaur Jr aren't hugely listenable. I mean, it kinda gets old fast. But Mascis has pulled off some good shit with his solo work. He's a master of fret-wankery.

Wankery is boring whether he is a master of it or not.

whoa. J and Dino r legends. When no one had any balls to rock out in the 80's and do crazy beautiful leads, J did. B/c i am back listening to them lately, and loving it, i am a little testy..sorry. But J is one of the last of the true traditional guitar heroes.

I really like Your Living All Over Me, for some reason. But the rest just doesn't do much for me. I'm not about to criticize the hair, as one who doesn't have much left. But I still have this urge to take a scissors and give J an extreme makeover.

Dinosaur Jr were good until Lou Barlow left the band, after that they became J's solo band and they cannot be compared. The first 3 records are amazing in how innotive they were, they had so many different styles of songs and Your Living All Over Me is a great example. It had great songs with blistering solos and then the totally fucked up Poledo which is one the strangest songs ever made.
I think it's fair to find the latter Dinosaur stuff boring but the first 3 album were groundbreaking and even if you don't like Dinosaur Jr I would give Your Living All Over Me a chance because I think you would change your minds, anyway whatever |

I still like, as opposed to love, Dino w/o Lou. Green Mind r u kidding me? That's the last brilliant album. Go slip some headphones on and jam some of their later stuff like the one that goes "i Know you're out there", LOUD!, and come back and see me. haha. my only tiff with the later stuff is how large and explosive it is. the production is too compressed and heavy metally. still.

Yeh I still really like Green Mind and some stuff from Where You Been but I don't think it comes close to the earlier stuff. I just feel some people will have heard the latter dino stuff and judged them on that and not listened to the earlier stuff. Without A Sound is complete shit to me
