Cold turkey isn't much of an option for me. Been smoking too long, and too much. Been on Chantix the last few days, have already cut down a considerable amount (was at about a pack and a half to two packs a day, now it's closer to half a pack). Can barely even finish a cigarette. My experience this far has been pretty good...VERY vivid/weird dreams. Nothing bad though..least, not yet. haha

I was smoking for nearly 20 years and smoking very heavily at that. I choose to go cold turkey and gave up weed at the same time.... I know it's different for each person but I found it pretty easy and haven't had one cigarette in well over 2 months now!
I think if you really want to stop then you will.... I have been finding it hard to sleep sometimes or I don't sleep as long as I used to and I also have very strange dreams but it might just be that I remember my dreams more now because I'm not stoned every minute of the day.... good luck swa(y) |

More into beer than wine...but when I must drink wine, it's usually sangria or pasiano.
Shiner is where it's at. That Shiner "Holiday Cheer" is some of the best beer I've had in ages.

Chantix is nasty nasty stuff. The patches always worked best for me. I've been a non-smoker more than I've been a smoker for the last 2-3 years but each time I've quit with the patches I've made in nearly 6 months.

I tried the patch once. Went almost a full 24 hours before going completely crazy and giving in to a cigarette. The thing I'm digging this far about Chantix is the fact that it doesn't require me to quit smoking, it just eases (and hopefully eventually kills) the feeling of needing to smoke. Just curious, why do you feel as if Chantix is nasty? The obvious mental health warnings, or is it something else?

Pot isn't addictive, unless of course yr talking about smoking cigarettes while on pot.

I'd say that I was more addicted to weed than tobacco... I couldn't eat unless I had a smoke but I've got over that now. |

I say its nasty because it interferes with so much shit, is relatively untested as far as long-term effects and killed my cousin's mother-in-law because it had some fucked up reaction to some medications she was on and she had a heart attack in front of her daughter and grand children like fuck man i don't play with pharmaceuticals save for tried and true things like opiates

Yeah, that sucks. I typically stay away from them but the risk, for me, is worth it. I suspect two months of chantix will be better than another ten years of smoking.
