I personally think Angkor Wat should've been one of the winners.
Also, the Christ Redeemer statue being one of the 7 winners seems just a bit silly. Not that the huge statue doesn't look impressive, but it was done with 20th century knowledge and engineering skills as opposed to 12th century Angkor Wat... or the mighty 9th century Borobudur in Indonesia (why wasn't that one even nominated? ridiculous!) ... or the 6th century Hagia Sophia. etc, etc. |
