I've taken a liking to this recording. I enjoyed it last night whilst sitting on my bed reading. It's definetly one of those that you have to be in mood for. What are your thoughts?

I can't decide which I prefer, this or SYR6, but they are my two fav SYRs and definitely career highlights for the band as far as I'm concerned.

I put it on once when I was doing art homework and it really did the trick. It's good for special occasions, but it's not in my regular record circulation.

I really enjoy this record.
It's one of my all-time faves. That trumpet, those mallets, oooooh. The guitar. The sound of that record just gets to me. I have it on the iPod, I should turn it on right now.

Talk about epic music sessions! For me, it is the realization of the stuff on SYR 1 and 2 (both of which I totally love, but this took it up a notch.) Jim O' Rourke became the band's fifth member without even setting out to in these tracks! After this, he never left until Rather Ripped. SYR 3 was a hell of a piece of momentum to get started with!

I sort of agree, but SYR4 seems outside the series compared to the first three. I was kind of surprised they didn't do like the Silver Sessions and label it differently. It's such a stand alone concept. |
