(this might not apply for the Americans, for, as we all know, they have no culture)
I'll start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT4Yl...eature=related

It would be the Spanish language music of the missions but I can't find any of that on youtube or anywhere.

not sure of the song, but the dance is local
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRyx5s0yktk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w0yEeINReY not really a folk song but a national song. its an interesting video because it mixes the palestinian culture with the israeli as in its a video of the israeli struggle in east jerusalem for the palestinians that i have been an active member of. one can see me in the video at 0:58-59 with sunglasses and a hat, and at 1:57. its also interesting culturally since most of it is a palestinian song except for the beggining which features the jerusalem based samba protest band that is part of the worldwide rythms of resistance. so it has a few levels of local folk music. and here is the other side of the political spectrum http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5px-p...eature=related this song is really amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW-sfmgUdCo israeli folk music is a mixture of all different kinds of music that immigrated to palestine during the first few waves of immigration. a lot of russion influenced stuff, with an attempt to create a nostalgia for working the land and socialism and stuff like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swr3dxosZos since jewish israeli culture is pretty new its hard to decide what exactly is a folk song and folk culture, since it is all a bit artificial, compared to palestinian culture which its much more of an indigenous culture.
