It's not made to be a powerhouse. It's made to serve the needs of business[wo]men who like Macs and work a hell of a lot on the road.
It definitely has some cool features though. LED screen, less than 3/4 inch tall, upgradable to 64 gb solid state drive, etc. Might I add, with that fucking harddrive, you can go Pete Townshend on it and you can still keep your data. So, kudos for Mac, kudos for portability, kuNOdos for price. |

anything that has a battery, has a replacable battery, like the myth that you cannot change the battery in an ipod. you just have to pull it apart to do so but it is definately replacable and not that hard. |

i'm talking about having two batteries to replace one battery with another once the charge is over. besides macbook air has a sealed, non-user-replaceable battery. yeah you can change it, will it fuck your warranty? yes. |

i only know one person who has had an issue with their mac and that was cos he dropped it, i would use nothing else on stage in a live situation. i have run many a large theatre show from my powerbook with no negative consequences at all. i also run it live on stage for music and sampling, again perfect, previously i had a very well spec'd windows based laptop and had it crash twicec on different shows and so i sold it. |

that's a sweet looking ultraportable and the price is bound to come down.
need more than 1 usb? buy a $20 hub. need an external optical drive? attach a usb one or network with another machine. i have an ibm x30 with no optical drive and i've always loved it for its portability. this machine is not meant to be a replacement for a workstation, it's a tool for the road. |

besides not everyone has enough skills to do it - most apple users i guess. it takes 5 business days to replace it. and yeah warranty is shit, 1 year warranty 90 days of phone assistance unless you pay a little extra of $249. and like i said having a replacable battery is a must in this kind of super portable computer, imo, a 5 hour battery dont assure much if you cant replace it on-the-go, unless you're just looking for a toy. onde could expect more from something that costs $3,098.00 |
