Are there certain times of the day in which Soulseek has more files availible than others? For example, last night I was able to find some pretty obscure shit; Viki's S/T release on Animal Disguise, Noise Nomads "Tone Deaf" on Arbor, some live Prick Decay, and some other stuff. Flash to this morning in which I am trying to thicken my Magma collection, and the only thing that comes up is thier S/T record? Is it my computer, or is my hypothesis correct?

Well, it has more to do with when other users are actually online, of course.
But it probably has to do with your connection and what version of soulseek you're using. There are two different severs. You should probably use the NS server if you wnat hte most shit. But I cna search on some computers and get a thousand matches on the most obscure shit ever... but on some computers, I can type in "animal collective" and like 2 ablums come up. So, it's a few different issues. Check your firewall.. |

Nope, your hypothesis is correct I think, it's because at certain times there is more online users I guess.

My computer crashed recently and I have nothing good to steal again. Have to try and upload some new music to library soon.

I don't think many people in that thread have the same slsk name or something anymore.

Yeah, basically is depends on online users, connection, and Soulseek being finicky. I remember search for just "Cat Power" and getting nothing and then search for "You Are Free" and got 7 or 8 whole albums of it. It all depends sometimes.
Oh, and batrealeaser, big ups for the Dinosaur Jr and hip-hop stuff

I don't know about you all, but my Soulseek dies a lot. Like if I search for something, cancel the search, search for something else, start an album downloading, and then search their folder, it's too much for Soulseek to handle and won't download, it will just say "Initializing" forever. I have to shut it down and open it to get it started again.

Mine never dies. I've been using it since it first came out and I've never had that problem. Again, doesn't sound like a soulseek problem, just a connection problem.
On the old version of soulseek, about 25% of my music collection is backed up on the user account i300e (roughly 350gb at this point) ... I have a lot backed up on Kyle's computer (Robe Flesh) on the NS but he's never on. On both accounts I go by jandekfahey which is my mom's computer. But I also go by BaD-CooL at my grandpa's computer .. I don't share many files on either one, as I burn them and then back them up on the i300e account. |

My soulseek just gave up working recently. It's really pissed me off. It just does not even try to connect when I tell it too. I'vc uninstalled it and then downloaded it again and the problem persists. What the hell could be going on?

Blogs just don't cut it with me. I'll find some random gems every now and then but for the really weird/obscure there's nothing like slsk.

yep, i've been using the google blog search for about 6 months and found 100% of what i was looking for , usually in no time. Downloading is a lot faster and hassle free + you sometimes get to read about what you dl while dling, which is pretty cool.
I have used slsk for about 6 years and also found just about everything i needed too, But i'm usually looking for less obscure stuff than u, so yeah. |
