So anyone besides me remember ride? that other shoegazer band from england that isn't my bloody valentine? Well 11 bands decided to pay tribute to this awesome record that you can download for free at the link below. I'm really surprised that someone actually puts this together but am glad they did.

I really enjoyed Here and Now, but honestly can't remember much else from the record.

Its strange. I'm a shoegaze fanatic, but Ride almost never gets a spin from me. I love the band, and I suppose it's true that they are often overlooked in favor of other bands. But its not as though Nowhere goes unnoticed. It's their other work people forget (or never hear). I think the MBV interest is mostly due to the reissues, and because MBV is a lot more likely to be embraced by an SY fan than Ride is.

I don't know... I've just always considered Nowhere just as culturally adored as Loveless.
regardless, this is very cool. I had no idea anything like this was happening. I can see this becoming the trend. Cover tributes by various artists. Its a great idea.
