Quick question: Does anybody else here like it???

I do, but it really has to be in the right mood/moment. Haven't listened to it in a while now.... but it really is an overlooked album.

BTW I got this musical flash from that bio here. Which is a nice read. I didn't know they toured the Soviet Union.

love this record. totally worth listening to but you knda have to read the liner notes to get the true meaning of the soundz. probably one of my favourite if not often listened to sy releases.

i've been meaning to start a topic about this CD. it's really great, an album I feel was necessary for Sonic Youth to make. If it came out now, in the context of the current noise revival, it would be completely lauded....

One of my favorites, a very overlooked release by SY, and I'm with daycare nation, I can listen to it anytime.

I had the chance to found it this winter (this record is rare here in France), and I totally love it. Once you get in the sound you are into it, these repetitives structures are totally immersive, a good thing to listen when you have like 30 minutes free...

Im kinda surprised so many people like it. I've actually never heard but from reading the description it kind of sounded like a joke. I've actually seen it used at a record store before but passed on it because I didn't think it would be that good. But I may have to chekc it out now...

yeah it's great i could never find it anywhere in ireland when it came out but managed to pick it up in germany on holiday. play it loud!

It's fun. I think the production lets it down a bit though. I wanted it to be a lot more aggresive, but it's a lot more calm than it is nasty... I certainly prefer it to some of the SY stuff, but I wouldn't say it's my favourite. Unfortunately, an album of feedback is alway going to be compared to Metal Machine Music, which is an outstandingly great and unbalanced album, which eventually gets quite relaxing...
