I understand that not all b-sides/outtakes were included on the destroyed room. please could someone give me a list of b-sides/outtakes spanning through the whole of SY career which have not ended up on album reissues or the destroyed room. I have My Arena which is great, i personally don't understand why it wasn't on the destroyed room.

The Destroyed Room isn't included in The Destoyed Room. Kinda ironic, innit?
As for the list, I guess you'd be better off checking Chris Lawrence's Sonic Bible.

the destroyed room is amazing, i suppose it rightfully ended up on the dirty deluxe edition, perhaps why they didn't include any b-sides from goo/dirty?

judging by that list hardly any of them are actually available, e.g. "stranger". it doesn't on any album, does this mean the song isn't available to download anywhere?

most of them are available in one form or another, 'stranger' being the rare exception, i guess...
1234 - live only, instrumental audience - not really a 'song', compilation-only bee-bee's song - legitimate original song (kim vocal) blooze blurr - not surfaced broken eye - live noise collage clippers - kinda cool instrumental from late 80s radio session coca neon - french EP/download only, a 'real' song (alt of 'move away' from demonlover) come and smash me - a good lee-vocal original from '85, weird compilation blues - original tune from jet set sessions, thurston vox corporate ghost - late 80s radio derniere minute - french EP/mixtape, etc destroyed room - probably left off the compilation cuz it was on dirty deluxe, yes dig this! - garbage drummer is fine - mixtape only instrumental, download from sy.com eyeliner - original song, outtake from 'rather ripped' eyes & teeth - fucked up piece of shit, thurston vox helen lundeberg - original song, outtake from rather ripped i love you mary jane - w/ cypress hill J'accuse ted hughes -- SYR7! kat n hat - long forgotten '85 tune hopefully appearing on forthcoming mixtape (please?) le paysage zim zum - french EP lord of your thighs - brief noise joke made in USA - alt version, download from sy.com magic air - not available magic wand - original track from '85, thurston vocal major label chicken feed - late 80s radio my arena - awesome (!) original from washing machine, t/k vox noisefest track - pfft non-metal dude - alt vers of eliminator jr ruben's beard - late 80s radio social static - download only, noise drone spinhead - mixtape only, made in usa outtake (awesome) stranger - not available su nioj - goofy rain king improv type sweet emotion - noise joke tabla in suburbia - legitimate SYR type instrumental terry's carrot - ridiculous 18 minute tedious noise exercise theme from things behind/think it over - i think you can download this one from sy.com? you pose you lose - kinda on daydream reissue now all of the covers listed (add "i'm not there") are extremely worth tracking down, too. the list of songs above doesn't include any of the 'destroyed room' songs, or non-LP stuff collected on the deluxe reissues. so, these would basically be the 'outtakes' from 'destroyed room', though in reality i think only a few tracks could've been seriously considered from this list (especially if you're only counting geffen era material) : - Bee-Bee's Song - Compilation Blues - The Destroyed Room (on Dirty reissue) - Genetic (on Dirty reissue) - Hendrix Necro (on Dirty reissue) - Helen Lundeberg - Eyeliner - My Arena - Tabla in Suburbia So you can see, they only have a handful of remaining legitimate vocal 'outtakes' that didn't appear on "Destroyed Room", though I have to say that "Bee-Bee's Song" and "My Arena", and hey, even "Compilation Blues" are fucking great tunes. Find the covers, stick these tunes w/ em, maybe the French EP (Kali Yug) stuff, and you'd have a fair companion to Destroyed Room....
