Three new releases out today on Deathbomb Arc:
DBA063 Child Pornography She's Got Legs cd $10 US / $16 World http://deathbombarc.com/releases/dba063.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can one grow old gracefully with a name like Child Pornography? Apparently, yes. On this 3rd full length, She's Got Legs, the youthful perkiness that has always characterized this band is not lost. Left behind though is the lo-fi buzz and hum. With clarity as a weapon, Child Pornography drive decisive guitar slices through epileptic beats for the most memorable autism-pop you've yet to hear. This evolution in sound is not a change to maturity, but just a refining of how much yappering, melo-drama, and exclamation a band can really stuff into the sound known as ROCK. Don't call them electroclash or nu-rave or whatever. These guys are the Rolling Stones of YOUR generation, so get struttin. Mastered by Weasel Walter DBA081 Robin Williams On Fire Jungle Gym of Crucifixes 7" $6 US / $11 World http://deathbombarc.com/releases/dba081.htm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the top rebel-mockers, crowd pleasing self-abusers, nudists, treble enthusiasts, and all around good ol' boys bring out the noise and the punk. Somewhere between XBXRX and Harry Pussy is the chaotic sound that has earned these fistory youth the title of "best band in LA" even though they are from San Francisco (or Santa Barbara or something). For anyone that wanted to know what happens when you play with fire, and the fire loses, then make sure to pick up a copy of this wax... if you think you can handle it. No refunds if the music bullies you around too much. Mastered by Weasel Walter. dba088 Beach Balls noise.beats.noise c10 cassette $6 US / $11 World http://deathbombarc.com/releases/dba088.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe the reason everyone says that the Hyphy movement failed is because Beach Balls broke up? In fact, we're sure this is the case. While many noise pranksters have used pop music samples to make bad jokes and empty socio-political statements, it was only Beach Balls that borrowed from noise to make their Hyphy jamz as maxed as possible. Respected modular synth ARTIST Bill Hutson aka Rale joined up w/ Kyle Mabson (aka the one-man Aqua of Los Angeles) to create what HEALTH calls the greatest live act in LA (yes, my sources are correct). So of course, when Beach Balls called it quits, the Hyphy movement failed in the eyes of many. But don't waste your time in despair. Pick up a copy of this c10 and party on forever.
