I have a friend whos a fan of all things extreme, largely grindcore/extreme metal and stuff like that. He's only recently discovered Power Electronics with a Merzbow album, he loves it, and I thought he would appreciate a Whitehouse album for christmas. Basically I was hoping you guys could reccomend an album of their harshest noise and particularly their most brutal lyrics, and where I can buy it for no more than 12 quid. Thanks!

I did think that actually, I saw Sutcliffe Jugend supporting Merzbow and I just thought it was right up my mate's street, though sadly not really mine. |

hit him on the head with a frying pan, then scream "cunt" at him for 45 minutes. It's cheaper and will have a similar effect.

TINH - OK! Well, let's see...
As an intro to the world of William Bennett, you could do a lot worse than get him "Birthdeath Experience" - a good one, and quite redolent of TG and v early Kraftwerk. The later stuff? Well, "Bird Seed" and "Asceticists" are mighty fine. The "classic period"? I'd go for "Great White Death" or "Erector" meself.

Don't buy anything that puts money in William Bennet's pocket.
Get him some more Merzbow, or some Sutcliffe Jugend.

...or better still, wait for mine and Everyneuro's forthcoming project - Gefilte Fish Jugend. You laugh now, but wait until you hear the CD. Oh hang on, you'll laugh even more then. Hmm, touche.

gefilte fish jügend for sure; you'll have to buy our debut biz card cd-r, edition of two, for $45 dollars though.
i wouldn't buy whitehouse albums but yeah, birthdeath or bird seed or right to kill, just avoid racket. once your friend gets his feet wet with whatever you buy him, get him some classic ramleh, the susan lawly disc by sutcliffe jügend, a grunt album, mauthausen orchestra's cd with selections from the early tapes and genocide organ's remember. |

is hating whitehouse the new thing? yeah fuck whitehouse!
I'd get him "Psychopathia Sexualis", thier 80s stuff is all pretty epic, anything after that your buying full records for single tracks as they got more and more hit and miss as it went along. |

I'd opt for either Bird Seed or Mummy and Daddy, I felt this period was when they were at their brutal peak.

Given the financial situation at the moment, I'd still go for the frying pan option. Apart from anything else, once you've finished clobbering your mate over the head with it he can use it to cook his christmas dinner. Just a thought.
