Hey everybody. I post sporadically on here, but I've been avoiding even looking at the board for a long time because I thought people were treating each other so rudely. Anybody wanna tell me what's shakin' here at Non-Sonics? (because I don't care about the other sections) like, who's turned into an asshole on the board since I was last here? Or what assholes turned back to being okay?

I will say one thing. I'm totally pissed that people are still interested in keeping emmah's POST YOUR PICTURES thread alive. Boooo that shit.

No dear, I meant you were being overimaginative reading into my declaration of maturity, which was meant to be conveyed as tongue-in-cheek. But it isn't true anymore because now I actually believe you! When I "managed to put myself on a pillar" that's not what I intended to do at first. I'm managing to do that now.

Look, you see, when I would come on this board, I would assume by default that anything said or done here would be viewed by everyone 75% ironically. It just kind of blew me away when you took once sentence so literally (I think). Just seemed strange on a board full of hipsters.

But then I thought I'm probably just being tested, much like the returning champion from Jeopardy (yeah that's me). Deep down you all have just a tiny bit of love for me, right? Just asking.

There's so much rudeness on the internet. I honestly don't mind being a somewhat deceptive or incessantly nice, enforcing politeness, disagreeing with people for not being optimistic, not embracing my asshole-ness, etc. I don't mind, I can already see a million worse things to be. The problem was never people being too sunshiney, it's that there are not enough sunshiney people. Being nice is the only interesting thing left to do on the internet, don't you think? Aren't you bored? Who cares about being rude? It's the most boring thing to do. Everyone does it. Aren't you the kind of people that are supposed to be scared to death of being called a dull person? So you might say anything for a reaction. Trust me, you need to own that dullness. That sunshine. Owning dullness transforms it into anything but. Anybody into Tolstoy? Gandhi?

On a board where everybody has ten green "props" I really see my two red ones as the only ones with meaning.

Ok, first I just want to say I'm not angry at floatingslowly. But I just started thinking about things in general and decided to run with it, so I typed it mainly for my own amusement. I couldn't help it but I thought some of my responses were snappy and artful, and don't want to keep it to myself. If you think I make myself big or preachy, well then I think anybody would like to be big and preachy. Like Ali G says, "Big up yourself". So it's here for your enjoyment.

Sorry, I really have no idea what the percentage of sarcasm or genuine hostility is in your posts (it's hard to tell with a computer screen) and I even forget how sarcastic I'm being. I've read this board a lot in the past, and I've seen such hateful interactions between people, that really the last thrilling thing for me (as an idea, but not one practiced so much) is to get in the middle of it and bother them to no end. I'm not that good at doing it in person, so I try it in writing or typing.

So this is what I was talking about. When it gets like this, I take everything for face value, addressing every little detail, and try to straighten things out in the end. It's just the surest way to go for me. Yes, you might be right if I care too much unnecessarily sometimes or am too serious (when I think I have to be). Sometimes I just like to be devil's advocate and jog people's heads with really long-winded rants. But overall, I try to be a good sport about it.

And come on, the F- was just well-placed. It was only a cheap gag.
