We have world-class art museums and people who wear cutting-edge ironic fashions and ride fixed-gear bikes. We also have a light-rail transit system (With ONE LINE to avoid the confusion cause by transfers) and wireless "internet connections" at many local "coffee shops."
We also have minorities and immigrants, in case the corn-fed caucasion stereotype is one you myopic children of privilege insist on maintaining in your minds.
The media feeds you shit like "Fargo" and "A Prairie Home Companion," but let me tell you, we have funny architecture and music not based in a folksy ragtime novelty tradition!

I seriously miss the Twin Cities. Minneapolis is the best damned city I've ever lived in. Dammit, I miss that place and I hate it here.

Minneapolis, to me, was like the best of NYC combined with a small town feel. It was hip and yet friendly, with all the amenities, all the restaurants and bars and music, all the fashion and style and stores you could want. The only down side was the freaking long, cold winters.

I used to get a day off during the week. My wife usually had to work it, so I would wander off by myself and roam the city. We lived near the lakes area. I'd spend half my day at the Walker Center, go downtown for lunch and the record stores, sometimes go into the department stores just to gawk at the amazingly beautiful shop girls (I swear they were all models), go back to the lakes and take pictures or just sit there. Man, sweet life, I tell you.
