Isn't it interesting that Japan and England are both island nations and both have the reputation for being very inhibited?

Does the inhibition extend to Wales and Scotland? Does it even exist in England or is it just a stereotype?

That's the question. I didn't think the Japanese were especially inhibited.

Japanese people are polite. Whether that makes them inhibited or not I don't know. I've only met a couple of English people but they seem pretty normal to me. Certainly not overly inhibited.

I think the whole binge drinking thing in Britain is because people are inhibited.

Yeah, as a kind of outlet for all that is inhibited. The more inhibited the more exagerated the outlet.

Great Britain is an island, but England is not.

Australia is sort of an island too, and 99% of australians I've met are the complete opposite of inhibited.

Yeah I know, but it's still an island nation. Should Wales and Scotland be including in what I'm talking about? |
