Their last album pretty much sucked, but it's been a while, and they've made a habit of coming up with something new each time... But lately there's been no news to be found on there site or elsewhere.
Any info on what they're up to? |

I think a new album should be coming somewhere soon... They cancelled the Euro tour they were going to do in May, saying they were going to reschedule it sometime in Autumn. So I guess they want to release an album before that or during this period. We'll see.
They've been posting unreleased tracks from "They Threw Us All In A Trench And Stuck A Monument On Top"'s era on their myspace for a while now, maybe this gives a hint on their future sound? We'll see. Also, I do not think their last one sucked, actually. |

Oh come on... is any band that terrible that you would wish that they would quit (I mean, except for The Mars Volta)? It's not like you're compelled to see their name everywhere, it's the Internet, it's pretty easy to ignore what you don't want to hear about

I think Drum's Not Dead is a very good album (haven't heard the others). They're not awful at all.

LIARS are just awful. I don't see how anyone could have gotten anything out of that shitty last album but I'm glad you did. Are there any bands you like who you think have released awful albums?

I listen to KoRn often. ICP's early shit isn't too bad. So what?

I got their split with Oneida where they're covering eachother's songs and it's pretty decent. Aside from that, I can't remember the last time I've listened to them.

I only really like Drum's Not Dead. Their other albums have their moments, but are for the most part pretty inconsistent.
I'm kinda iffy about them releasing new material. I think they've already pushed the limitations of their sound and I just don't think they're too brilliant to put out something different. |

I'm gonna agree with this. It's kind of a downer as a DND follow-up but it's a good record in it's own right...there's lots of diversity to it, not surprising considering coming off of DND which for all intents and purposes is really just one long song chopped up. They were probably aching to do something different after it. The self-titled is weird because a lot of it is spot the influence, wayyy more than their other ones. 2nd song is Beck, third song is probably Front 242 or something, yada yada yada. I like it. Parts of it remind me of Love and Rockets for some reason. It sounds like my teenage years wrapped up, so it's fun for me.

liars are one of the most interesting bands to have come out in the last 6 years or so... the first album is damn funky..... damn good the 2nd one a bit all over the place but surreally interesting and worth it the 3rd is a masterpiece, great album the 4th is their most accessible and their most "easy listening" but that doesnt have to make it crap... i like it a lot, i liars a lot and for that im making no apology! |

I like it too. For a while I played it frequently. Maybe it would be helpful if we remembered that all of this is subjective and we're all entitled to our likes and dislikes, eh?
