Any fans of Black Eyes?
Deformative is pretty much my new favorite song. www.myspace.com/blackeyescough I prefer the self-titled to the Cough.

NO. Not myspace music. They just have a myspace.

Yeah, I looked them up. They actually seem like a decent band. Hah, all this said, I still haven't listened to the myspace yet....

The music's okay. The vocals are really annoying.

They were the best band to start and end in the first five years of the decade. Every time I put the self titled on it still blows me away. Hugh McElroy has been in a bunch of bands since they split, but I feel like everybody that was in that band knows they could never match how intense or engaging that music was, so they don't really try and go anywhere near that aesthetic. Along with Pavement, Black Eyes are the only band I'd confidently pay to see if they ever reunited. I really want to know what Daniel Martin-McCormick is up to-- he was one of the most interesting guitarists to come around in a while (actually, just found he has a myspace page with jams on it). But yeah, driving back from Fort Reno and blasting their albums is one of my favorite parts of summer.

first album was ggoooodddd.second, hmmmmmm,a bit too "intellectual" in my opinion, like the last liars album,ok,you an consider it a work of avantgarde genius,or boring as hell.
but i think bands like black eyes should release just a couple albums, then move over to different things.so,chapeau to them.

i have the s/t... never really listened to it all that much... vocals are a bit too much really... drumming a bit annoying too if i recall... they seemed to be trying to be arty but in a self-concious willful way which didn't really quite work.. i'll need to give that album a spin again sometime... it's weird i was thinking about listening to it while i was walking home from work today..
