Whoah Whoah Whoah Whoah Whoah Whoah ...
You included Life After Death but not Ready to Die?! Explain yourself, louder. Other than that, and perhaps Jeezy, this is a very reasonable list. Classics, all. Good list for newcomers and beginners, as it recommends albums that define purist hip-hop. So on the whole I approve, but the Biggie matter requires immediate attention. |

I had the same thought, but in all honesty my own list would only include oldies out of obligation or to establish credibility. Who needs another pretentious "hip-hop historian" list? Nobody who doesn't know Flash and NWA is going to be looking at this anyway. I for one find it refreshing. Though my own list would be almost entirely different. |

i forgot to mention this is more like a list of personal favs, rather than the albums which are technically supposed to be the greatest of all time. Rob - i appreciate a lot of older hip-hop, well more individual songs than full lengths to be specific. but honestly i'm still learning. didn't wanna talk about shit i'm not very familiar with. like Severian said i can't lie just to make others satisfied. Severian - you don't like Jeezy or any trap music at all?! anyway rapping-wise Ready to Die IS a 10/10 album. Life After Death has some filler it's true, but also happens to have my fav Big tracks on it. i just find it more fun to listen to. there's absolutely nothing wrong with Ready to Die though, at all hah; in fact i did make a statement about it being on par with Illmatic. i guess i just prefer albums where the production is a lot more dominant. Illmatic wouldn't have been the same without Preemo's beats, nor Reasonable Doubt without Ski's, etc. R2D has some great beats, but as a whole the prod doesn't really stand out IMO. (excuse me for my lame grammar i'm tired) |

as a bonus, i'll add my father's review on Goblin:
"this kid's gimmick is rhyming everything with 'fuck' and 'shit' so he doesn't need to put effort in his lyrics. bla bla bla FUCK bla bla bla SHIT. i've already counted him using the word 'fuck' 47 times on that song." then i showed him a pic of Tyler, he said "he looks like a good boy but his mouth is so dirty". ether |

well, Get Rich is the obvious one. i thought i'd get bashed for that.
i don't care for Fiddy's discog at all, i don't think he was ever Pac or Ice Cube, or even Cam'ron, but his debut was awesome. dope beats and infectous hooks. |

50 is one that I truthfully haven't even spent enough time with to comment. I could agree with you. I have no idea. All I have is some mixtapes. But srsly. Go through yr 25, tell me which you think I'd agree with and which you'd think I'd disagree with. It's interesting to me. And could spark enough to make me make my own list perhaps.
