Many have tried but alas failed. For I declare that this really is the most pointless thread ever. And just to prove it, here is an extremely overused picture of the Jesus and Mary Chain.

Very nearly, but without a picture of the JAMC it couldn't possibly hope to compete. |

You're well aware of how pointless this thread is. Disqualified.

if its here most likely it will be useless. You kids do a real good job of keeping the discussion dumb and normal.

Cool, I'll use this as a moment to say I listened to every Nirvana record the other day, aside from the greatest hits and anything involving that ridiculous box set.. some quick thoughts:
Bleach - Man, what a good album! It has a dark production similiar to Pink Flag or Spiderland... some of the songs are a bit flat and plodding, but all in all it's good.. Incesticide - Amazing! "Aneurysm", "Sliver", and the fucking amazing "Beeswax"! Wow! Almost all the songs are awesome! Nevermind - Well.. ignoring how overplayed it is, there are a couple good songs on here.. the production on this one is shit.. the whole thing is so glossy that it's just ridiculous.. love the super fuzzy bass in 'Breed', 'Territorial Pissings' would be great with different production, and uh.. 'Drain You' is one of their best songs.. whatever. In Utero - Something's always bugged me about this album. The productions are good, but the songs ... this has some of their absolute worst songs on it: "Heart-Shaped Box" (which goes nowhere!), "Rape Me" (worst song ever?), "Pennyroyal Tea" (plodding and boring), "All Apologies" (boring and plodding), "Tourette's" (meh), and "Dumb" (which isn't awful but it feels a bit .. um .. familiar). It has the overlooked classic "Very Ape", which I personally have loved since I was like 12. And "Scentless Apprentice" is one of my favorite Nirvana songs... But even stuff that's good like "Milk It" and "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" are too long.. sure wish the amazing "Marigold" were on here. Live in NY - Boring. Who cares? Worth hearing once or twice.. does anyone else just fucking hate "Polly"? From the Muddy Banks blah blah - Probably their best album... sure wish "Smells.." and "Heart Shaped Box" weren't on here. But you get AMAZING versions of "Aneurysm", "Sliver", "Spank Thru", and "Scentless Apprentice". I'd start with this album if I were just about to get into this band. As an aside, does anyone have that show with Pat Smear that "Scentless Apprentice" on the live album was culled from? I'd sure love to hear some really good sounding bootlegs with Pat in the band. The two guitars just sound great! |

Damnit Atsonicpark, you're in danger of giving this thread some meaning and significance. Just to get things back on track, here's a really boring picture that everybody here's seen a zillion times:

I'm not happy with you. I have tried so hard to start many a pointless thread, but now I have so much competition it makes it difficult to think of any new ones. When Pookie was about, I felt like we were the McCartney/Lennon of pointless polls.

Do you or have you ever owned a Dinosaur Jr shirt? It was significant to tell who did or did not own a Dinosaur Jr shirt. Duh!
