This week on What's This Called? with your host Ricardo Wang for Saturday, June 28th from Noon to 1 PM Pacific Time (that's 3-4 PM in Portland, Maine!) on KPSU is joined by two "Portland artists", one from Portland OR, and one from the other Portland in Maine, providing some of the most interesting noises you will likely ever hear!
Crank Sturgeon and Soup Purse will both be playing later that same evening some 90 miles to the north at the 14th Annual Olympia Experimental Music Festival, Soup Purse as a member of the ensemble Dendrites and Crank Sturgeon in one of his infamously weird solo manifestations (Soup Purse will also be playing a solo set at the festival the next day as well). On What's This Called? they will each be performing a short solo set and then a third one where they join forces in an improvised collaboration! SWIMMING UPSTREAM AUDIO RIGHT HERE!
