I think Sonic Youth should change their name. They can hardly be "youth" anymore if they're all in their 40s/50.
So, does anyone have any suggestions? |

I reckon 'Thurston and Wife' would be a good one.

Not sure if you're kidding or not...but I disagree wholeheartedly ! Some find the fountain of youth...and music is ONE of the main ways of keeping it. The years move on...but the YOUTH remains. We are all the ages we've been up to your present age....so youth is never gone....Hold onto it or you grow old and die. Don't become a terminal adult.....Timothy Leary, spoken to me in an intimate one on one conversation at my college in 1978.

I was joking. But some might feel strongly in that way so I opened it up to discussion.

Thurston, Wife and Friends sounds like a lame-ass sitcom, like Three's Company.

Who else voted yes?
Washing Machine would have been a good name. |

Exactly, or like a company name or like 'Peter, Paul and Mary'. It was meant to be a joke. |

Thurston has said before that their name SONIC YOUTH, is not THE sonic youth, and it in no way refers to a specifically aged person. i is a state of being, a state of SONIC YOUTH> get it? therefore they should retain their name forever.

Thurston, Wife and Friends is too long.
A name like Savage Animal doesn't come along everyday. It jus rolls off of the tongue. SAVAGE ANIMAL. |
