Man, is it hot. Here in England we've been having a heatwave, and according to my trusted source in Washington it's heating up in the USA too?
I've made the most of the good weather by reading books in the back garden while frying an egg on the hot metal table on the patio. How have are you enjoying the sun? |

It sucks. Hot as fuck down in Alabama. I can barely bear to even go out. Also no rain for a couple weeks.
I'm ready for fall. |

I'm not. But the good news for you an I, Danny, is that temperatures are expedcted to drop a bit in our area tomorrow. Maximum 22C. That's still too hot, but it's a move in the right direction! Did you see any of the Open golf? The course is half brown. Looks like hay.

That's cool. Haha, no pun intended. I think the heat is destroying my dad financially. We have fans on all day and I drank like 2 cartons of juice today. Oy. I hear Hoylake has banned shorts. |

Don't know about the shorts, it's just a shame that the Open comes back after 40 years and the course looks like it hasn't been watered since.
I've consumed more milk and water (filtered, of course) than I can remember. Only four mugs of coffee for me today, which is in itself proof that something highly unusual is happening.

Yesterday I had six drinks in like three hours: Three milkshakes, a carton of peach juice, and two cans of Irn Bru.

What's rain? I always hear about other places "getting it." It's a foreign concept here.

Wirral had some rain last night. Not enough though.
On Radio Five they were talking to someone in Iraq, who said it was 42C there. Like that makes me feel any better.

It's been 33C here. For this country, that is almost unprecedented - seriously - and I am finding it hard to cope. It's made worse by the fact that my slightly twisted metabolism ensures that I never feel cold, but get hot very easily (I have never owned a coat). It sucks, big time. Is this really what people travel abraod for? Is this what they actually PAY for? F***ing lunatics.

Tomorrow I want everyone to try and fry an egg outside with no help except the sun.
I wonder how many people it'd work for? |

As a general rule, we get a maximum summer temperature of 30C, and it lasts for 2 hours 23 minutes before it goes cold again. That's how it's meant to be.
I'm told that one of our nationwide electrical chains sold an electric fan every two seconds yesterday . Why the f*** people waited till yesterday I do not know.

Its been in the 100's ALL week long, I believe on Monday we were the hottest part of the country. It is so miserable. Unlike you folks on the West Coast we have the humidity, and it is unbearable. I went swimming today and I couldn't even enjoy it, even the water is boiling.
Its supposed to cool down a little bit tomorrow. We can only hope. |

I've just had my fourth shower of the day, and already it seems like a waste of time. I mean, it's midnight here, but it feels like noon on a normal summers day.
