Michelle Malkin's new book Culture of Corruption is getting a lot of buzz..

From the Inside Flap
The era of hope and change is dead....and it only took six months in office to kill it.Never has an administration taken office with more inflated expectations of turning Washington around. Never have a media-anointed American Idol and his entourage fallen so fast and hard. In her latest investigative tour de force, New York Times bestselling author Michelle Malkin delivers a powerful, damning, and comprehensive indictment of the culture of corruption that surrounds Team Obama's brazen tax evaders, Wall Street cronies, petty crooks, slum lords, and business-as-usual influence peddlers. In Culture of Corruption, Malkin reveals:
* Why nepotism beneficiaries First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are Team Obama's biggest liberal hypocrites--bashing the corporate world and influence-peddling industries from which they and their relatives have benefited mightily
* What secrets the ethics-deficient members of Obama's cabinet--including Hillary Clinton--are trying to hide
* Why the Obama White House has more power-hungry, unaccountable "czars" than any other administration
* How Team Obama's first one hundred days of appointments became a litany of embarrassments as would-be appointee after would-be appointee was exposed as a tax cheat or had to withdraw for other reasons
* How Obama's old ACORN and union cronies have squandered millions of taxpayer dollars and dues money to enrich themselves and expand their power
* How Obama's Wall Street money men and corporate lobbyists are ruining the economy and helping their friendsIn Culture of Corruption, Michelle Malkin lays bare the Obama administration's seamy underside that the liberal media would rather keep hidden

she is spot on.. many people know it. the Democratic Party is as evil a bastard and as corrupt a mother fucker as any in the world. In fact, in many respects, a lot of terrible shit has happened in American history in the past 50 years, mostly under their watch. They are full of African style corruption and nepotism, but...

Michelle Malkin's analysis may be absolutely correct, but her intentions are not.. She simply wants to promote one brutally corrupt and nepotistic form of governance over another. She says the Obama administration is bogus, but her agenda is still part of power politics.. she does not want to discredit this administration for its wrongs, she wants to defame this administration to promote the other side, who is just as guilty if not more.

This is how Nixon took office, saying he would end Vietnam when he only expanded the bombing into Laos and Cambodia.

This is how Reagon took office, saying less government, less spending but increased deficit spending to unprecedented heights and created a larger government control over daily life while reducing the beneficial government services of the welfare state (in other words, the govt is more powerful while providing less necessary social support services which according to the social contract philosophy is the very purpose of government to begin with)

It is just so much bullshit. It gets me so pissed off.. it is classic spin doctoring.. to use the truth to promote a lie. what a waste, people will not even get the point to pay attention to their corrupt government here in the US because they will just see it all as politics rather than reality. We need a true, genuine and proactive socio-political movement to rise from the masses like in the 1960s again.. but alas, not if we think we can change the system from the inside, and not if the instigators and muckrakers promote the status quo of the same shit different toilet..
blah!

this chick is pointing out how corrupt and nepotistic the Obama administration is, but only to big-up the right in some "I told you so" manner when both the Dems ad the Reps are equally corrupt motherfuckers..

then i totally agree with you. i see that same thing happen over here all the time. it is really annoying when what they're saying is ultimately right, but being used to promote an even greater evil.

ps. thanks for the summary.

Idealism of opposition is no idealism at all.

if it's just contrarianism it's no more than irritating, but when the objection is valid but used to back up something even worse, then it's something altogether more objectionable (and dangerous).

I consider these objections to be of the structure of American representative democracy and its relation to corporatism. As suchfriends says, the right wing is just as objectionable. Therefore, to address these objections to a single party only serves to perpetuate the system in which you are criticizing. Ironically, funneling anti-corporate sentiment toward anti-government ideology benefits corporate interests via deregulation. Contrarian politics is an essential element of mainstream politics.

There is no end for politics.

exactly. there are two scenarios here.. people will become even more apathetic as the expose as just more politricks rather than a revelation of the truth "and then the system wins again and will carry on winning until God knows when..."

or

Even worse, the people act on the information but in the direction ordered by the whistle blower, who in this instance, is promoting a right-republican-divisive platform of "see these guys are so bad vote for us again" when in reality the situation is "see, ALL these guys, right or left, or all equally fucked up so lets try something new altogether.."

The issue is not so much the substance of the objection itself (ie, calling out the Obama administration corruption) but the motivation and intention of the muckracker in calling it out in the first place. Why was this information spun to us in the first place? What is the agenda of the source? In this regard, the agenda is to play power politics games and try to convince people to support one corrupt asshole over another.. The shame is that in the process, since the whiste-blower has an invested interest and agenda, the substance of the exposition gets discredited as people say, "no, Obama is not corrupt, thats just rightist propaganda"

ps. Obama is a straight bitch for backing down with this Gates Jr incident. We all know that there was racism involved when one of the most famous black intellectuals in america gets wrongfully arrested for breaking into his own house at the front door in a well-to-do neighborhood. Getting arrested for being black is nothing new in america, but it is sad continuation of the status quo when a BLACK PRESIDENT throws the victim to the wolves.. thats why Marcus Garvey said there would never be a black president, implying that if there ever was, it would not be a black man representing the interests of black people, but rather a sell-out bumbaclott..

What I'm saying is that the minority party has always conciliated with anti-establishment independents. It is a necessary part of that establishment.

In other words, no big surprise at this book nor this thread.

no, its not a surprise, but its still a shame. In fact, you have proved my point exactly. This commonality of all this politricking has led to wide-spread apathy to the issue.. since it is a kind of reality for us, we all kind of accept it, which we shouldn't (myself included )

I disagree, we should accept it. The pros out weigh the cons.
