Were their cameramen told 'show Lee as little as possible, he makes the band look old'. The poor dude had about 3 seconds of screen time during the whole performance...otherwise...really FUCKING SLICK!!!

Did the camera guy really say that?
I didn't see it on TV, but I was there in the audience but towards the back. It was a lot of fun and they ended up playing 9 songs I think. |

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. It turned out well because before the show, the staff people were saying that since they were gonna be taping extra segments for the show or whatever that people were gonna have to choose between seeing the studio portion of the show and seeing Sonic Youth, but there was a small chance that people in the studio would be able to see both. So I decided to gamble and sit in the studio, and sure enough in the end we get to see both. So it was an awesome night...
seeing Lance Armstrong, Tracy Morgan, Shaun Alexander and Danica Patrick (who is freaking hot) and Sonic Youth! |

it's obvious that no one had any idea who sonic youth were. the camera was on thurston 95% of the time. they prob thought he was a solo artist and everyone else was part of his back up band. fucking clueless tards...

They sounded pretty good again, but TV focusing on the singer and no one else really isn't anything new, sadly.
Also, guy in the yellow shirt = Pavement alum Mark Ibold

I don't really like it when bands play the same song twice on separate tv appearances. It bores me. I thought they should have played something other than Incinerate. Maybe Rats. Give Lee some goddamn tv time. It;s always Thurston or Kim. lee writes songs too, guys!
