I'm trying to put together a SY compilation to a friend of mine, I'd like some suggestions from you guys to know what songs I should include. My idea is to make a compilation with more rocking and ear-catching tunes (like Purr, Catholic Block, etc..).
So, what do you suggest? |

From the albums I have, I would suggest:
Expressway To Yr Skull Starpower Schizophrenia Into The Groove(y) Teen Age Riot Silver Rocket Hey Joni Kissability Dirty Boots Kool Thing 100% Sugar Kane There's probably too many Thurston songs in that list, but these are the songs that stood out as accessable to me. |

A SY compilation without Schizophrenia, Catholic Block, the Sprawl, She's in a bad mood, Deathvalley 69, I dreamed I dream, Starpower, and Expressway to your Skull is not a SY compilation.
Good luck for your compil, man. |

Screw compilations. Bands are always ruined for me once my friends start getting into them. But if they are already into them before i meet them then it is cool.

I'd say Danny Himself nailed a pretty good one there.
Though I may also add, if he didn't, their recent cover of I'm Not There. |

Well, I finally had the time to put it together, thanks again for all your suggestions, it was very helpful, really. So here is the final version of my compilation:
01 - Dirty Boots 02 - 100% 03 - Pattern Recognition 04 - The Dripping Dream 05 - Incinerate 06 - Mildred Pearce 07 - Catholic Block 08 - Freezer Burn/I Wanna Be Your Dog 09 - Mary-Christ 10 - Kool Thing 11 - Bull In The Heather 12 - Sugar Kane 13 - On The Strip 14 - Chappel Hill 15 - Purr 16 - Mote 17 - Paper Cup Exit 18 - Silver Rocket 19 - Beat On The Brat 20 - Nic Fit 21 - Teenage Riot 22 - Pacific Coast Highway 23 - Stereo Sanctity 24 - Death Valley '69 25 - I Don't Want To Push It 26 - Into The Groove(y) 27 - Schizophrenia 28 - Disconnection Notice I know it's a pretty obvious compilation for the most part of it, but it was what I really intended to do, if I want to "convert" another set of ears to the marvellous world of SY. Thank you all once again, and please leave your comments on the setlist. |
