what an underrated, weird, instrumental, little, hardcore noise alblum. its so much different that anything black flag ever did, and a lotta people hate it. i for one think its amazing, and see alot of in it in many of the load/amphetamine reptile bands. i have a cassette of it that i just found lying around and ive listened to it 5 times since. the triple meaning name is awesome too (weeding out as in getting stoned, weeding out the neanderthal non-intelligible hardcore kids, and weeding out henry rollins). anyone else love this record as much as me?

I've actually never heard it, but I'll try and find it now.

just know what it hardly sounds like a blag flag alblum, but for that reason its my second favorite behing damaged. damaged proved that they were the genre defining hardcore punk band, but process of weeding out proved that greg ginn was a musician talented, creative, and even artistic enough to go in a totally differet direction. i was just looking at mindflayer's myspace page like a second ago and they fittingly listed it as their only influence. its a total noise rock alblum.

I remember buying it years ago thinking it would be this raw, primal, early sounding punk rock. Then I listened to it and realized how much of a jazz-esque release it was, very tight yet free at the same time, a great record.

I can't remember how many times I've seen this in the record bins, but never picked it up. The artwork is cool, as per usual, but there must be somethign about it that put me off.
SST's still got the "I Can See You" single, so I think I'm gonna get that. |

this video has nothing to do with the process of weeding out, but it's an awesome video of henry rollins getting interviewed by some douchebag kid around 1984. funny stuff. look at rollins' awesome shorts.

do you mean gone? recently reissued but haven't heard them either. he's been in a bunch of bands and now that i'm thinking about it, gone existed around the same time as the last few years of flag. |

gone are not all that great. i guess they have their moments like ginn's solo stuff has theirs.
yeah gone opened for flag on flag's last tour. they lasted about a year after that. rollins actually got the two other members of gone and that's when he formed rollins band. |
