Maybe there should be a thread where people can buy/sell/exchange their Sonic Youth items and rarities. I was thinking of putting up a list myself later, as I need to move back to England and can't take it all, but the last time I posted an ebay link to some stuff it was removed as I "hadn't made enough posts", haha.
Any objections? |

OK then, I'll start the ball rolling.
When I moved to Estonia, I brought most of my stuff with me at great expense, annoyingly, and now I have to move back to the UK pretty sharpish. I can't afford to take everything with me, and couldn't afford storage there if I could, so I'm going to try and offload as much as I can before I go. I did put some stuff on ebay before, but I can never seem to get that right. I tried putting up ridiculously high Buy-it-now prices, in the hope that people would at least see the stuff and make a sensible offer, but there were none forthcoming. A couple of years ago I tried the standard ebay auction route, but ended up losing an original double test pressing of DDN with proof sleeve and autographed poster for less than the price of the standard issue, grrr (by the way, it's the one I had in the photo on the mustang page for DDN, although the caption doesn't mention that they are test pressings). They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I thought I'd go one better and make a video, it save me time listing and photographing. If anyone wants any more details, they can email me at johnnyf at easyrazors.com I'm open to offers for everything - I do need to shift as much as I can as quickly as I can, but keep it real!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tCiBOYCAAk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XfG-Du052Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmQojDSPhWE Well, it ended up in three parts, maybe a bit too long, sorry. Probably took me as long as photographing and listing in the end too. Any info - email me johnnyf at easyrazors.com Cheers |

Here goes me thinking about selling some of my stuff, then seeing yours made me want to buy more... Really nice idea putting up a vid of your collections, looks almost like some sort of documentary! And I'm just over the half of the first part....damn...

This seller seems to have had an unending supply of Bad Moon Rising test pressings with the silver HRM labels, going back quite a while.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONIC-YOUTH-Bad-Moon-Rising-rare-test-Pressing-record-/380308624555?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item588c2914ab I bought one of them from him a while back, I think. I tried to look back in feedback a while, and found another sold by the same person on November 4th, but it seems to pop up quite regularly. Does anyone know the story behind these? Why is he able to get so many, and where do they come from? I used to be quite into collecting records by other bands, and the number of test pressings of most releases were in the 0-5 range; some, it seemed, did not exist at all. |

If nobody minds, I might start putting links to other peoples' stuff on ebay, if it seems interesting.
I don't think this comes up for sale all that often: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONIC-YOUTH-GOO-BRAZIL-PRESS-LIMITED-LP-/310288554769?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item483ea39b11 Quite nice old Swans Tshirt: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SWANS-vintage-early-1990s-shirt-Sonic-Youth-/220725684191?pt=Vintage_Unisex_T_Shirts&hash=item3 36446a7df Evol era flyer: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONIC-YOUTH-1986-Kansas-City-SST-EVOL-Concert-Handbill-/270693841398?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f069c 39f6 |
