true when you're talking about injera, or lentils, but laptops aren't made in ethiopia, so they still have to pay international prices for technology.

Why don't they just make a black and white computer with 8 megs of ram and a 1 gig hard drive that runs windows 3.1?

I don't know though, it seems that for all the upgrades in computer technology, the software written for it makes it end up slow anyways.

Microsoft needs to come out with a new version of windows that is built around a different set of standards. Not resource hogging. Have you seen how much space Vista needs? It is ridiculous.

All I want is an OS that can run firefox, chat programs, bit torrent, audacity, a media player, and a few games and have decent hardware support. Well, and not get infected.

I got into another overly expensive and highly regarded technical school.

If I was smart I would have went to Pitt and took classes and hung out with Carnegie Mellon kids.

How unfortunate. Hopefully the ever progressing size-shrinkage and price reduction of technology will be able to sole this problem in the next couple of years.

Maybe I should get Linux and an Xbox-360!

Eh. . . The Linux part is cool, but the Xbox-360 keeps me close to microsoft, PS-3 is expensive and lame, and Wii doesn't have the next installment of Half-Life 2 coming out for it.

Maybe when I upgrade my computer I should load Linux for recording, wasting time on the internet, and looking at porn, use Windows 98 to run my old Dos games, and XP to run my newer games. (Dos emulators BLOW majorly BTW)

I fricking hate microsoft. Their windows products get worse and worse, and software companies keep going with it, and making less and less stuff compatible with 95/98, and now 2000.

They have laptops at Wal-Mart that are like $280 or something ridiculous, I think they're Acers. No hard drives, and the thing is smaller than a fucking Bible, but I already have an external DVD drive so I'm thinking of getting one.
